ArmUno 2.0 demonstration of real world robotics task. Robot arm picking up sample objects, placing them on a scale, recording its weight and then sorting the objects by their weight. This is an excellent example by one of our customers and highlights the main goal of microbotlabs kits, the ability to do real world robotics concepts on a desktop footprint at an affordable price.

Armio Robotic Arm Kit from MicroBotLabs

The Armio Class Robotic Arm is the Future of Entry Level Kits from MicroBotLabs.

Armio Robot Arm Design Goals:

Self Powered by most computer USB ports (No Batteries Required!, Optional for Additional Torque).

Simple Assembly (Armio D1= 6 Bolts for Mechanical Arm Assembly plus 4 Bolts For Base Attachment).

Extensible Modular Designed Accessory's  including a "Robotic Playground" System.

Compatible with ArmUno 2.0 Code Base and Control Software.

Lower Price than the Similarly Equipped ArmUno 2.0 Kit.

The Armio Class Robot Arm  Intends to be the "go-to" Kit for an Affordable Introduction to Robotics.

Did We Mention that Armio is a "Class" of Robot Designs?

The Armio Class Robots consist of multiple mechanical designs that adhere to the Armio Design Goals.

Pictured above is the Armio D2. Our second design that is near finalization for kit production. it improves on the first Armio's low part count (3 bolts for the arm assembly, 4 more to mount to a base). To put this in perspective the ArmUno & MeArm Robot Arm designs requires about 45 bolts and nuts to assemble. We hope that you can see a pattern here to dramatically simplify the assembly and complexity of entry level robot kits.

Lowering the entry level to learn robotics is one of the main goals of MicroBotLabs and we feel that the Armio will make great headway to that end. we are not done of course and this is just an announcement to let our customers and fellow robot enthusiast know what we have been working on. More info and probably a dedicated page to be announced soon.
